Wow, it has been one of those weeks...just a constant stream of always doing something. Among the items on the to do list this week:
- Teach Relief Society on Sunday. Learn lesson about asking the resident crazy to share her thoughts by watching the Spirit in the room fly out the window as she proceeds to rant and rave. (Then learn second lesson about showing grace.)
- Dinner on Sunday at Mom's house to say hello and goodbye to family friends who are moving out of state. Post message to Misty on your blog asking her to email pictures of the kids when she gets a chance. ;-)
- Figure out how to attach an elastic or velcro band to twelve pairs of ginormous clown glasses for Gracie's dance class tap costumes.
- Make broccoli and cheese soup at nine a.m. for your recipe exchange group. Attend group and taste other soups while engaging in a depressing discussion on how having babies completely trashes your bodies.
- Bake cupcakes for Valentine's party. Throw them out when you realize that Betty Crocker cake mix doesn't hold a candle to Pillsbury when it comes to cupcakes. When eating the new batch, swear by the doughboy for the most moist and fluffy cupcakes, hands down.
- Assemble craft kits for preschool Valentine's party. Enlist the smarts of Brendon when you realize that four and five year olds will never be able to thread the beads with the impossibly flimsy string. Praise his name when he fashions non-life-threatening "needles" from paper clips and tape for each child...at midnight.
- Take a stand against the Joneses, who have changed the Valentine's card exchange at school into something far different than it was when you were a kid, by making Shayne make and color his own cards. Then, cave to the Joneses (and mommy-guilt) by attaching the requsite candy and prizes that must accompany the card to make it worthy of notice.
- Resist the urge to compare Shayne's offerings with those he brought home with him Thursday...even the one that came in the large hand-stamped, handmade box, tied lovingly with a bow and containing a full-sized candy bar, sucker, candy necklace, card, pencil, heart eraser, stickers, tatoos, and the kitchen sink.
- Make baklava for a Valentine's dessert. Strut around, overly proud of yourself for this culinary feat...until you realize that you have pretty much burned it while chatting on the phone with Jenny.
- Enjoy a wonderful, fabulous, candlelit meal made by Brendon of Spanakopita, marinated vegetable salad, Souvlaki, homemade pita bread, and Tzatzika Sauce. Yum, Yum, and Yum!
- Sneak in as many moments of reading A Thousand Splendid Suns as possible during a very busy week.
- Finally post that blog you've been meaning to get to all week.

Wow! That is one super busy week. The Valentine from the classmate is ridiculous!
I'm a slacker and you had time to babysit too. Thanks Leigh!!
Let me know when you have that whole grace thing figured out, okay?
I got tired just reading about your week. lol
I hope you survived. Btw, when did Brendon become a foreign food chef? I can't even pronounce the names?
Can you add respond to Sharon's e-mails on your list? Just giving you a hard time... I know you're doing well and that's all that matters.
BTW, Betty Crocker uses milk in all of her mixes... The dough boy is about 75% milk free for his products. So I'm glad to hear that Betty does trash cans.
