Daubs

About Miss Aubrey...
  • She also had a birthday. What a big girl!

  • She requested a Tinkerbell party and a chocolate cake with purple frosting, and we were lucky enough to have the New York cousins in town to share in the celebation.

  • Whoever heard of the Terrible Fours? Aubrey, that's who. She is giving us a run for our money at the moment. Little stinker (and screamer). I fear she learned too much from the "old" Gracie. Nipping that in. the. bud!
  • At the same time she is still our most snuggly, affectionate kid. She loves to give and blow "BIG kisses," give "BIG hugs," snuggle in the mornings and after naps, and sit in your lap. (Though her squirminess makes that last one not so endearing.)

  • She is finally (finally!) adjusted to going to her Sunbeam class at church. Hooray! Though even when she was crying about going, I knew she loved it anyway. She would come home and sing the songs, tell us all about her lessons, and proudly carry around the little scripture bag they gave her all week long. Are we raising a girl with a split personality?
  • She is such a little mama to her dolls. She especially loves to mimic me when I am holding a baby, positioning her self and her doll just so.
Daubs7 Napping with a few of her babies.
  • She is learning that Alex is her best buddy, since he is old enough to play, but not so old that he won't follow her every move and direction. This can mean hours of quiet play for the two, to the point where it's so quiet we check to make sure they aren't making mischief. (It can also mean the inevitable screeching spats when things don't go just so.) She endeavors to teach him all sorts of things; I once overheard her teaching him how to pray over their play food: "Say, Our Father. Good. Now say, Help us be good. Good job, Alex!" They are pretty darn cute together.

  • She collects and then "hides" things without meaning to; for example, Gracie's Calico Critter bunnies went missing for about a month (right after the picture below was taken) until one day I was changing out purses to one I hadn't used in awhile and found them all zipped up in its inside pocket.

  • She loves, loves, loves to be on my phone. She plays matching games and watches videos and "dresses Chica" from the Sprout channel. And takes lots and lots and lots of self-portraits. Silly girlie!

ahhh, this girl cracks me up. The screaming and sweetness combined. Good stuff.

The "hiding" of things is quite funny. Love the picture of you two!
